PROPER FITMENT AND WHEEL REPLACEMENT

Proper fitment of the tire to the wheel is essential to long-running tires. A common error is improperly seated tire beads. Poor bead seating will eventually result in vibration or shaking and affect the ride of the vehicle.

While proper tire mounting is key, the wheel underneath must be in top condition. Wheels that exhibit any one of the descriptions below must be replaced:

  • Wheel with bent flange
  • Wheel with leaking weld or rivets
  • Wheel with elongated stud holes, which are caused by improper lug nut tightening
  • Wheel with excessive radial or lateral run-out

Have your wheels inspected by your tire service professional to determine if they require replacement.
